On a limb - with Sophie 'art' Baker

Join emerging regional artist Sophie 'art' Baker out on a limb in this exhibition of new works painted at the edge of her reach. Explore unusual terrain and familiar territory with precipitous edges, dancing gums and a few loose kangaroos in the top paddock, all painted in action Plein-air. The naivety which comes to the surface in these paintings pin’s Sophie's rural upbringing (climbing trees) in Burra and Yass to the page. Sophie delves beyond the surface, perhaps even beyond the pail, attempting to capture her experience of being out on adventure in Australian Bushland. With a painting from her hike in Wilson’s Prom, this collection of small works even faces her Waterloo. But facing her fear of failing as a painter in every stroke, Sophie presents a group of work created out of her comfort zone, putting her heart on a limb.
