Pamela Phillips

Pamela loved art from an early age, but work and family put this on hold. She started painting again in recent years, winning an award in the first exhibition she entered and participated in exhibitions of local artists with the Artists Society of Canberra, Queanbeyan Art Society and at the Tuggeranong Art Centre. After yet another interruption for work, she began to devote herself to her art full time at the end of 2003. Largely self-taught, Pamela has been focussing on developing her skills and exploring different media, with some tuition at workshops and with local artists.
Pamela’s preferred media have been oils and acrylics, with some experimentation in mixed media. In 2004 she began working in pastels, which has also influenced her style in oils and acrylics. She enjoys the tranquillity and beauty of the natural environment, including floral subjects and hopes to capture that in her work.
